WHAT REALLY HELPS
First of all I recommend The Game by Neil Strauss – primarily for motivation and entertainment. Most of the guys discover the pick-up community through this book. Simply check out the 681 customer reviews (603 are positive!). The book is extremely inspiring and full of outstanding tips and routines (priceless: The Cube) you can use tonight when you go out sarging (however it’s hard to keep track of them all – the book has more than 440 pages!)
Daygame Blueprint by Andy Yosha is a brand-new step-by-step system for daygame – simply a must-have! The focus here is on daygame (not night clubs & bars). Think about it for a second: It makes a lot of sense to pick up women during the day, in the street, grocery story, at the shopping mall or on the bus, train or subway – mostly they are alone and there is no competition – most guys are afraid to approach a girl on the street (but as you will discover in the book it’s just a matter of habit), so girls are approached far less often during the daytime than at night (when guys are out drinking with their “homies”). That’s why they don’t have a protective shield (the so called “bitch shield) during the day and it’s actually much easier to approach them and to get a positive response. And women love to be approached! (but not by drunk guys with lines like “Hey, do you come here often?” of “You have beautiful eyes!”).
Attraction Formula by Paul Janka is a book I learned a lot from. Janka’s rule of omission (page 11), the 1-minute-movie-trailer-concept (p. 22), his thoughts on money (p. 50), your mojo (p. 13) and the best places to find women (p. 15) alone are worth the money. I recommend to get the Attraction Formula book together with the in-field-videos (where you see Paul picking up girls on the street as well as seminar-videos and some audio material).
Daytime Dating by Jeremy Soul is also a good daygame-guide with a more systematical approach. What makes this book great is that it’s full of “real talk” examples. Also, the tips on direct approach (page 64) and the tips on how to get in state (page 17, bonus book by Carbeau) are worth a mint!
Magic Bullets is another great, comprehensive attraction/seduction guide. It’s full of concrete instructions for almost every given situation.

The problem is: You can read all the books in the world, but as long as you don’t know how to turn the knowledge into action they are worthless.
That’s why I recommend the Beyonds Words DVD Set by Cajun (you need to see this guy in action).
If you’re more into online dating (and it truly can be more effective) there is simply no way around “The Online Game” by Derek Lamont. Well-written and full of useful tips.

The Way of the Superior Man by David Deida has nothing to do with pick-up, but in my opinion it’s simply a must for every guy trying to get better with women (actually for every guy in general). It will help you to understand women better but also to find out your purpose in life (!) You will see I have not overpromised.
